Electronic Wheel-Slip Reduction - ESR

By regulating the torque, Electronic Wheel-Slip Reduction (ESR) prevents your wheels from spinning when manoeuvring or accelerating the car in slippery road conditions. The system used in the majority of SEAT models comes into play at speeds of up to 40 km/h.

ESR's operating method is rather like an "inverted" ABS. If the wheel speed sensor detects that one wheel is spinning, ESR triggers a brake pulse for that wheel.
