
On Monday 5th December 2011, guests gathered at Tallaght Stadium, the home of Shamrock Rovers to celebrate the announcement that SEAT Ireland is the new title sponsor of Shamrock Rovers F.C. for the 2012 season. The deal reflects the brand’s global soccer platform and SEAT, Ireland’s most stylish car brand, has been working with Shamrock Rovers’ midfielder Stephen Rice as a brand ambassador for the past year and is delighted to extend its support to the full squad. Woodies DIY announced on the night that it will continue its support of the club and will work together with Shamrock Rovers and SEAT to ensure the club’s continued success.
Guests in attendance on the night included SEAT brand ambassadors, TV3 presenter Anna Daly, racing car driver Eoin Murray and Shamrock Rovers midfielder, Stephen Rice. Also enjoying the celebrations on the night were Shamrock Rovers players Jim Paterson, Pat Sullivan and Dan Murray, Simon Elliott, Group Managing Director of Volkswagen Ireland, Chairman of Shamrock Rovers Jonathan Roche, Ray Colman, CEO of Woodies DIY and promoter and Shamrock Rovers fan, Buzz O’Neill. Catering was provided by Neil Shirt Catering and At Your Service, who served mouth watering canapés, including delicious festive mince pies.
The new Shamrock Rovers’ jersey embellished with the SEAT logo on the front and the Woodies DIY logo on the back was also revealed on the night and is now on sale. Shamrock Rovers received a branded Shamrock Rovers’ SEAT Leon, which will be displayed at Tallaght Stadium before key home games, two SEAT Exeo’s and a SEAT Exeo ST also as part of the deal.
