To mark SEAT’s title sponsorship of the UEFA Europa League final, which takes place at the Aviva stadium in Dublin on Wednesday, 18th May 2011, SEAT Ireland teamed up with The Irish Daily Star to give one lucky reader the chance to win a brand new SEAT Leon. Today, Friday, 13th the lucky winner Anne Merriman from County Dublin was presented with the keys to her new car by SEAT brand ambassador, Shamrock Rovers star Stephen Rice.
Speaking at the car handover, Anne said “I am absolutely thrilled that I won, words can’t express how happy I am. When I got the call I didn’t think it was real and I’m still waiting for it to sink in! I can’t wait to get in it and take it for a spin. ”
Stephen Rice is one of Ireland’s best known domestic football stars having represented Ireland from under 16’s to under 23’s. In 2003, he returned to Ireland from Coventry and signed with Bohemians. In 2005 Stephen was awarded the Bohemians’ Player of the Year. Stephen joined his current club, Shamrock Rovers in 2007 where he remains one of team’s star players. 2010 was a particularly good year for Stephen winning the league title and being pronounced the club’s player of the year. Stephen is also the proud owner of a SEAT Leon – the perfect car to get him to and from all his biggest games.
Anne will now fully experience the power and style of the SEAT Leon, a car that combines elegant flowing lines with straighter geometrical shapes which enhance the sporty image that is characteristic of SEAT’s cars. The character traits of the previous model were already highly popular, but this is an even more attractive car, and comes in the wake of the drivers’ and manufacturers’ titles won last year at the WTCC World Touring Car Championship. The new SEAT Leon is an even sportier, more stylish and more economical car.
The numerous features on the SEAT Leon are readily seen on the outside, but the interior also features a world of difference. Modifications have been made to the steering wheel, the controls, instrument cluster, central console and seats, making the sportier-looking cockpit and passenger compartment much more modern and sophisticated, and increasing comfort for both driver and occupants.
